L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue is having its vegan moment!
Plant-based foods are what’s up right now on l’Isle-sur-la-Sorgues’s lunch scene. Thank the internet. Thank Netflix. Thank people like us who are curious enough to go discover even though we’re not even vegetarian! Thank the passionate owner Bénédicte of restaurant Vert Bouteille for having dared to be the first one to serve 100% vegan food in this idyllic village which is actually best known for its antiques…
Vert Bouteille, your perfect detox juice counter and so much more!
We’re seeing the effects of this in an explosion of vegan options at the grocery store, in food courts and, more recently, in a string of new restaurants that are 100 % vegan. But at Vert Bouteille we’re not only talking about vegan food but a complete ‘green’ lifestyle. Bénédicte is originally a home decorator and that shows…she has the perfect eye for the smallest details and you know what? That makes her pure plates even taste better. Inside or outside! As usual on this blog, you can click on each image to see enlarged…
Let’s have lunch
We’re not hippies, we’re healthy, and our ranks are growing as fast as demand can keep up, both here in Provence and around the world. And that doesn’t mean you cannot have a glass of wine or beer anymore…look at this menu! Her wines are bio dynamique and her bio beers are locally produced in the Luberon.

I think people are learning more thanks to the power of social media. They’re reading things and becoming knowledgeable about diet and lifestyle. This has translated into what we put on our plates.

It’s not so much a move towards veganism as it is about building a great restaurant that just happens to serve animal-free products and which is animal friendly ♥ Look at this, Kasper even had his own little bed to sleep in!

The sound of silence
Another enormous pro of this place is the fact that it is situated on a cute square that offers the sound of singing birds, the sigh of wind blowing through the trees, friends and family enjoying a meal in an idyllic setting respecting each other’s peace. Or you can simply enjoy reading the Côté Sud while sipping your glass of bio dynamic wine and let things be…your choice ♥

Reservation info
Generally speaking, we do not plan very much in advance. We start the day driving somewhere and whatever comes our way, we accept and try to enjoy. BUT since this wonderful restaurant is located in a somewhat busier and better known village, it might be a good idea to make reservations in advance, especially with the holiday months coming up!
The last piece of pie
Leave it…because its mine! 🙂 This is one vegalicious tomato pie! ♥♥♥
